Volunteer
The Maine Community Bank Maine Marathon is run entirely by volunteers. Our passionate and dedicated volunteers are the reason why this event is so well organized and why runners keep returning year after year.
More than 800 volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of tasks — both on race day and the days leading up to the race. Volunteer positions include:
- Packet pickup (Saturday and Sunday)
- Traffic control
- Water stops
- Finish line (handing out medals and space blankets)
- Food tent
- Baggage
- Parking
- Course cleanup
- Finish line cleanup
Volunteers for the 2025 event will receive a coupon for a Maine Marathon volunteer shirt, $5 Dunkin’ gift card, and 2026 Portland Sea Dogs ticket.
